1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Kitchen Vault mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Kitchen Vault is a recipe management application that allows you to:

  • Store and organize recipes locally on your device
  • Extract recipes from photos, videos, and links using AI technology
  • Follow step-by-step cooking instructions with built-in timers
  • Create and manage shopping lists
  • Access premium features through in-app subscriptions

3. User Accounts and Subscriptions

Free Version

The basic version of Kitchen Vault is free to use with limited features. No account is required.

Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through subscription:

  • Subscriptions are managed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account
  • Payment will be charged to your app store account upon purchase confirmation
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your app store account settings
  • No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods

Free Trial

We may offer a free trial period for new subscribers. If you do not cancel before the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged.

4. User Content and Conduct

Your Content

You retain all rights to the recipes, photos, and other content you create or upload to the App. All content is stored locally on your device.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its systems
  • Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App
  • Use automated systems or software to extract data from the App

Copyright and Recipes

When extracting recipes from external sources (photos, videos, websites), you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use such content. We do not claim ownership of any recipes you store in the App, and we are not responsible for any copyright infringement by users.

5. AI-Powered Features

The App uses artificial intelligence (AI) to extract and process recipe information:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate or complete
  • You should review and verify all AI-extracted recipes before use
  • We are not liable for any errors in AI-generated content
  • Photos and videos processed by AI may be sent to third-party services (OpenAI)

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors in the App will be corrected

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL KITCHEN VAULT, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

We are not responsible for:

  • Loss of recipe data due to device failure or user error
  • Food safety issues or cooking accidents
  • Allergic reactions or dietary issues related to recipes stored in the App
  • Third-party content or services accessed through the App

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

  • OpenAI for AI-powered recipe extraction
  • RevenueCat for subscription management
  • Apple App Store and Google Play Store for payments

These services have their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services.

10. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time
  • Update these Terms of Use at any time without prior notice
  • Change subscription pricing with notice to existing subscribers

Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to premium features if you violate these Terms of Use.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
